🇺🇸🇲🇽⚡️ — Mexican drug cartels are recruiting individuals with experience from the war in Ukraine and sending their representatives to the Ukrainian front to gain skills in operating drones.

This was reported by The Washington Post, citing American and Mexican officials.

The focus is primarily on citizens of Colombia. According to the publication, the cartels offer large sums of money to specialists returning from Ukraine and are involving them in training drone operators in Mexico.

Some individuals linked to the cartels are being sent to the war under annual contracts.

The U.S. State Department has stated that it is discussing with Kiev measures to reduce the risk of transferring combat skills to criminal groups.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense considers the problem to be limited. The ministry stated that foreigners undergo checks, and that there are "not many" people arriving with criminal intentions.

🇺🇸⚡️ — On the evening of September 22, a single-seat MK-58 jet aircraft belonging to the U.S. company ATAC crashed off the coast of California. ATAC provides the U.S. Navy with air-combat training services and operates as a simulated adversary.

The aircraft, bearing registration number N345AX, crashed into the Pacific Ocean approximately 9.7 km (6 miles) northwest of Morro Bay during a training sortie. Before the crash, the pilot issued a distress call: “Mayday, mayday, mayday, engine lost thrust.”

The pilot was rescued by a U.S. Navy crew. At the time of the accident, the MK-58 was conducting a training flight alongside at least three other aircraft in the airspace off the coast of Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties.
