⚡️🇮🇱 Benjamin Netanyahu posted on X:

This is an emergency call!

The future of our Jewish state hangs in the balance. Go out and vote right now!

Higher-than-usual voter turnout in the Arab sector compared to the low turnout of right-wing voters.

We must wake up - we must not stay home.

We're going out and voting right and bringing as many people as possible!

I cannot determine whether he’s just doing his usual thing (scaring the shit out of people with lies so they do what he wants) or if right wing turnout is genuinely low today.

Countrywide, there has been 44.9% voter turnout so far as of 2:00 PM Israeli time. For comparison, in the previous election, the turnout was 38.9%.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡ CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper recently visited the region and held meetings with service members participating in demining operations, in the current American blockade of vessels traveling to and from Iran, and in other activities.

This visit followed US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's visit to the region, while increasing signs indicate that the Trump administration is considering the possibility of resuming large-scale strikes on Iran in the near future.

🇺🇸⚡ Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced that he intends to fully exclude transgender people from the ranks of the US armed forces.

Special Pentagon commissions, which include ordinary service members, were given such strict instructions that the chances of transgender military personnel appearing before them remaining in service are practically zero.

However, according to data gathered by The New York Times in conversations with service members and lawyers, the Navy and Marine Corps commissions voted in nine out of 12 cases to keep transgender individuals in service.

No such trend has yet been observed in the Army and Air Force.

⚡🇺🇦 In the meantime in Ukraine, Zelensky’s party is once again pushing to adopt bill number 10242, whose provisions would drastically restrict the ability to investigate corruption among politicians and the president’s entourage.

The vote was scheduled for tomorrow, October 28. The initiative was put back on the agenda at the request of Andriy Motovylovets, first deputy head of the “Servant of the People” faction, but opposition politicians blocked the vote by submitting around 1,500 amendments, which led to this item being removed from the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

What did the bill propose?

⬛ Officially, its goal is to tighten liability for the illegal use of information from state registers.
However, human rights defenders warn that the proposed provisions could be used against journalists and people who provide them with information that is important for the public interest.

In particular, it concerns:

⬛ Up to 8 years in prison for unauthorized copying of information from closed registers under the circumstances specified in the bill.

⬛ The risk of wiretapping and surveillance of journalists and their sources within criminal proceedings, since such violations could be classified as serious crimes.

⬛ Insufficient protection for people who provide information to expose corruption and other abuses.

✍️ For example, a journalist investigates the origin of an expensive car or an apartment registered to a relative of an MP. To verify this, they receive information from a closed state register. The person who copied this data would risk criminal liability, and the journalist could come under investigation as a possible accomplice.

❗ If sources are afraid to provide documents, it will be more difficult for journalists to uncover illicit enrichment, corruption, hidden assets, and other abuses by officials.

✅ The risks affect not only the media. Civil society organizations and commissions that verify the integrity of candidates for public office also work with information from registers.

🇪🇺 In addition, in December 2024, provisions concerning the so‑called “Lozovyi amendments,” whose revision was demanded by the IMF and the EU, were added to the bill.
The Anti-Corruption Action Center criticized these changes as incomplete and stated that they were used to push through a controversial document under the guise of fulfilling international obligations.

✅ In December 2024, the Verkhovna Rada did not support the bill at its second reading. After criticism from the media community, it has been repeatedly brought back onto the agenda.

The final version that may be put to a vote is not yet known.
⚡🇺🇸🇵🇱🇩🇪🇳🇱🇸🇪 The U.S. Department of War, in coordination with Lockheed Martin and European allies, has chosen Poland as the location for a European service center for PAC‑3 missiles, the Pentagon announced on the sidelines of the NATO national armaments directors conference. According to the statement, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden will lead the integration of supply chains.

The PAC‑3 is a surface‑to‑air guided missile used in Patriot air defense systems. The facility will carry out maintenance, repair, and modernization of the missiles in Europe. It is not intended for the production of new missiles. The U.S. Department of War states that performing this work in the region “will significantly reduce downtime” and provide allies with additional capabilities in crisis situations, but does not give specific figures. The Deputy Minister of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, Michael Duffy, said that allies are investing national resources “to create this important sustainment system on NATO’s eastern flank.”

This decision follows an agreement signed on July 7 at the NATO summit in Ankara by representatives of the U.S., Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden on the possibility of creating such a facility. Lockheed Martin previously stated that it will support allies using both PAC‑3 MSE missiles and PAC‑3 Cost Reduction Initiative missiles.

🇷🇺🇷🇴⚡️ — Russia rejects Romania’s accusations over the September 14 factory fire in Brașov, denying any role in sabotage and accusing Bucharest of making allegations without evidence.

Russian Ambassador Lypaev says the accusations threaten bilateral relations, insisting that the security threat to Romania stems from NATO and EU policies rather than Moscow.

Iran holds four-way "security meeting" with Mecca Pact states

The meeting coincides with a brutal Saudi war against Yemen and reports of an imminent US Israeli escalation against Iran. Tehran has framed the talks as a "practical step" toward "endogenous security" in the region.

The meeting included Iranian Supreme National Security chief Mohsen Rezaei, Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman, Pakistani army chief Asim Munir, and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was also present. Tasnim News Agency confirmed earlier reports that Pakistan had proposed the four way meeting.

"Discussions covered regional security, the consequences of US Israeli military aggression against Iran and its continuation, as well as efforts to assist the people of Palestine and Lebanon," the outlet reported.
