Exactly one year ago, on August 15, 2025, a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump took place in Anchorage.

One of the main topics of the summit was the cessation of the conflict in Ukraine, and at the time, statements were made about significant progress.

However, a year later, the United States indirectly distanced itself from its agreements, stating that there were no official agreements, only proposals.

🇺🇸🇮🇱⚡️ — The Trump-Netanyahu relationship is coming to an end. Israeli elections are in just two months, and the current prime minister's position is becoming increasingly precarious. Bibi continues to hope for Trump's support, but it has yet to materialize.

Under pressure from the White House, Netanyahu has already been forced to reduce bombing of the Gaza Strip and partially withdraw troops from the enclave. However, he continues to publicly criticize the "peace council" and the proposed de-escalation plan in Gaza. Trump, meanwhile, calls Bibi a "good wartime prime minister," clearly hinting that he will suffer the same fate as Churchill in 1945.

Trump's team is currently in simultaneous contact with two Israeli opposition leaders: Naftali Bennett and former IDF commander Gadi Eisenkot. The latter has created his own party, Yashar, which is even ahead of Netanyahu's Likud supporters in the polls. Eisenkot publicly fell out with Bibi in 2024 and advocates for a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

Jared Kushner will soon visit Israel. He will "sell" his peace plan to the Israeli opposition. The White House views the opposition as more manageable and amenable to negotiations than Bibi. Trump, however, has never forgiven the latter for being drawn into the war with Iran.

Netanyahu promised a quick regime change in Tehran, which never happened. Now Trump is unable to break the Middle East impasse. Washington hopes to shift all the negativity surrounding Israel—the bombing of Gaza and the unpopular war in Iran—to Bibi. However, even a change of prime minister is unlikely to restore Israel's reputation, which the majority of Americans have become critical of for the first time in history.

🇺🇸⚡️ — According to the FBI's annual report, the rate of violent crimes dropped sharply across the United States in 2025. The murder rate reached a 20-year low, and the overall violent crime rate showed the largest single-year decline in recorded history.

FBI data, covering approximately 87% of U.S. police departments, showed a decline in murders by 18.1%, robberies by 18.5%, rapes by 7.6%, and aggravated assaults by 7.2% compared to 2024.

Reported hate crimes decreased by about 7%, motor vehicle thefts by 22.7%, and burglaries by 15.8%.

🇺🇸⚡️ — President Donald Trump has issued an executive order mandating a comprehensive reform of the U.S. Navy's shipbuilding industry, citing rising costs, delays, design complexity, and insufficient production capacity.

Among the key directives:

Aircraft Carrier CVN-81: Within 60 days, the administration will develop a plan to replace the EMALS electromagnetic catapult and the Advanced Weapons Elevators with traditional steam and hydraulic systems.

Foreign Shipbuilding: The administration will seek to implement the "Finnish Model," allowing foreign shipbuilders to participate in the construction of up to three types of vessels, provided that they establish or acquire a shipyard in the U.S., train American workers, transfer relevant technology, and create a U.S.-based supply chain. The first two ships may be built abroad, with subsequent vessels built in the United States.

New Surface Combatants: The Navy will develop a new procurement approach aimed at acquiring affordable and reliable surface combatants capable of anti-submarine warfare, surface warfare, and convoy escort.

Fifth Navy Shipyard: A plan will be developed to establish a fifth public Navy shipyard, including additional dry dock capacity for nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers.

Submarine Repair: The administration will establish a Component Repair Center designed to maintain at least one full set of spare equipment for Los Angeles, Virginia, Seawolf, Ohio, and Columbia-class submarines.

NAVSEA Reform: The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) will undergo a review aimed at reducing bureaucracy, increasing accountability, and preventing redesigns of already proven ship designs.

The primary goal of this order is to increase production capacity and competition in the U.S. shipbuilding industry, while reducing the costs and time required for the construction and maintenance of Navy vessels.

It is important to note that most of these provisions direct the Department of Defense and the Navy to develop plans within specified timelines; they do not provide for immediate approval or funding of the projects in question.

These were all shot down by Iranian air defense systems during the active phase of the fighting.

Also among the debris were Starlink terminals, which are installed on the LUCAS kamikaze drones.
