๐บ๐ฆ According to Ukrainian law, 35-year-old former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, having lost his position, was subject to mobilization or could voluntarily sign an infantry-assault contract for a period of 14 months, which, according to him, not only offers the highest salary in the world for an assault soldier but is also a guarantee of full reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
However, on July 18, 2026, on the third day after his dismissal, he was exempted from mobilization as an employee of the International Charitable Organization East Europe Foundation.

The Algerian army is conducting large-scale exercises in the air and on land along the borders with Morocco and Western Sahara.
In recent years, military measures along the western border have been stepped up due to active arming of Morocco by the United States and Israel, as well as the growing threat of conflict.

Archival footage from August 30, 2022, shows a pair of Su-34 fighter-bombers conducting a low-level bombing run against a concentration of Ukrainian military equipment in Kherson Oblast.
The trailing Su-34 was hit several times by ground fire. One round pierced the cockpit canopy and passed close to the pilotโs head, while others damaged the left engine, forcing it to shut down. Despite the damage, the aircraft managed to return to base on a single engine. The footage captures the moment it was hit.
This is an example of how the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) conducted combat sorties over Ukraine in 2022, often at extremely low altitudes, before guided aerial bombs became widely available. The lack of such weapons forced aircraft and their crews to operate within range of not only short- and medium-range air defense systems, but also MANPADS and small-arms fire.
Throughout 2022, this outdated method of employing combat aircraft contributed to the loss and capture of numerous Russian pilots.

"The numbers seem somewhat different. We generally estimate approximately 80 to 120," said Defense Minister An, when asked about the US president's assessment.
The minister clarified that this is an estimate from a South Korean research institute. The military's own data, he said, are subject to restrictions on public disclosure and cannot be revealed.
