What happened next, according to the source, is extremely strange.
Within just a few minutes, police officers, bomb disposal experts, firefighters, television news crews, and bomb disposal equipment, including a specialized robot, arrived at the scene. The speed of their arrival raised questions among airport staff. The airport is located about 20 km from Leipzig, and it is not possible to simply drive up to the terminal and enter the restricted area of the airfield. For outsiders to gain access, they must undergo security checks and obtain the appropriate permits, including a temporary Tagesausweis. The process of obtaining a permit and passing the security checkpoint takes time. Therefore, it is unclear how a specialized team, a television news crew, and heavy equipment could have reached the airfield so quickly after the radio report.

The source strongly disputes reports that the device allegedly contained explosives or a detonator. The employee who brought down the drone with his own hands did not see any detonator or explosive material attached to it. Photos subsequently published in the media, which showed the drone with explosives nearby, do not match what airport staff initially saw at the scene. The drone itself was a small, inexpensive consumer device, primarily intended for photography and video recording. Such a device could not carry any significant additional weight.
After watching news reports, the employee who personally brought down the drone was upset by how the incident was presented to the public. Police are now stationed around the clock at the security gate near the S8a road, where aviation enthusiasts used to gather at night and where drones were occasionally observed.
