On July 30, during a Russian attack on western Ukraine, Polish systems detected a Kh-101 missile, and F-16s were scrambled to intercept it.

At the same time, a Ukrainian MiG-29 was operating near the Polish border, which created a risk of "friendly fire".

After the incident, Poland asked Ukraine to provide better information about the movements of its aircraft, and the data exchange system between the two sides was improved.
