The Pentagon denies this, and Deputy Press Secretary Jacob Bliss stated that these claims “simply do not correspond to reality.” The White House did not respond to Politico’s request for comment.
According to the sources, the Technology Support Office (TSO) was created in April.
As Politico reports, this is mentioned in previously unpublished Defense Department documents, including a memo signed on April 14 by Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg, which states that the TSO reports to the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security. The purpose of the organization, according to one former official, is to “buy time or impede adversaries in developing technologies” that would pose the greatest threat to U.S. armed forces in the event of a major conflict.
Sources report the development of tools for hacking and the planning of disinformation operations, for example, how to trick adversaries into installing faulty components in weapons. Politico reports that the TSO has no legal authority to conduct covert operations on its own and works with military and intelligence personnel who do have such authority.
This agency was created by merging two classified Pentagon intelligence programs that, since 2023, had been conducting small-scale sabotage operations in the technology sphere. Sources say that Special Operations Command and Cyber Command raised objections, fearing budget cuts. Although the budget details are unclear, one former official estimated that classified contracts alone likely exceed $1.5 billion.

If the Democrats gain control of both houses of Congress in the November 3 elections, they will be able to put new funding for Ukraine to a vote. With the support of two-thirds of the votes in each chamber, Congress would be able to override a presidential veto.
Democrats could also oppose the easing of sanctions against Russia and push for the restoration of international aid.

The student movement that is now taking power emerged after the tragedy of 1 November 2024 in the Serbian city of Novi Sad. At that time, a concrete canopy at the railway station collapsed. Sixteen people were killed. The tragedy sparked mass protests throughout the country, which later grew into a nationwide movement against the government and President Aleksandar Vučić, whom the protesters accused of corruption and the usurpation of power.
Throughout 2025, students organized mass rallies, blocked universities, roads, and government institutions. Teachers joined the movement, and later all kinds of groups did as well – football fans, trade unions, human rights activists. Over time, the student movement turned into a political force and put forward its own list of candidates in the parliamentary elections – the main rival of the students was the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, linked to Vučić. The party had been in power for as long as 14 years: in 2012 he became Serbia’s first deputy prime minister, in 2014 he headed the government, and in 2017 he became president.
