🇫🇷 The number of protesters yesterday across France is estimated to be between 600,000 and 1.6 million.

Nationwide, 220 demonstrations were announced, and 40,000 to 80,000 people were expected in the streets of Paris. Approximately 16% of teachers went on strike, and education is disrupted at a third of universities. In the town of Tournefeuille, protesters set fire to a school building; the fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported. In Lyon, around 500 rioters smashed the windows of a labor center and clashed with police.

Authorities deployed 70,000 police officers and gendarmes to maintain order.

The photo shows the town of Thun, where the B&T facility is located (or rather, was located) — a manufacturer of firearms, tactical accessories, and non-lethal equipment.

🇮🇷🇴🇲⚡ According to a report by the Financial Times, at least four Iran-linked vessels have been observed in recent weeks performing unusual maneuvers near submarine communication cables in the Gulf of Oman.

Data from the maritime intelligence company Windward indicate that three tankers under US sanctions and another Iranian vessel reduced speed, changed course, and remained for extended periods over areas where cables are laid. Some of them even switched off their identification systems for several dozen hours.

This unusual activity has raised concerns that Iran may be mapping the region’s communication infrastructure or preparing to potentially damage these assets in the event of a new military confrontation. The report comes against the backdrop of direct threats by Iranian officials to harm submarine cables, which serve as a vital communication channel for Gulf countries. Damage to these cables could cause serious disruptions to the internet, financial services, and regional communication systems.
