Tensions escalate again in the Middle East: US evacuates embassies, Israel prepares for attack, Iran promises to respond
▪️ Iranian military and government officials have discussed how to respond to an Israeli attack, The New York Times reported, citing a source.
▪️ According to the publication, Iran has developed a response plan that involves an immediate counterattack on the territory of the Jewish state using hundreds of ballistic missiles.
▪️ Earlier, CBS reported that US officials had received information that Israel was ready to launch a military operation against Iran. US officials were informed that Israel was fully prepared to launch an operation against the Islamic Republic. The US also expects Iran to retaliate against certain US targets in neighboring Iraq.
▪️ On Wednesday, the Islamic Republic's Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said that in the event of a war with the United States, it would attack all American military bases in the Middle East.
▪️ Commenting on the situation, Donald Trump explained that Americans are advised to leave the region "because it can be a dangerous place." Mr. Trump also reiterated that the United States will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons.
▪️ However, US President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, still plans to meet with Iran for a sixth round of talks on the country's nuclear program on June 15.
