گزارشها از ایران حاکی است که تهدیدها و فشارهای امنیتی بر خانوادههای کشتهشدگان اعتراضات آبان ۱۳۹۸ برای لغو مراسم یادبود جانباختگان و وادار کردن بازماندگان به سکوت همچنان ادامه دارد.
مسیح علینژاد، روزنامهنگار و فعال مدنی مقیم آمریکا، روز پنجشنبه ۲۷ آبان در توئیتی از «حمله ۵۰ مامور به مراسم دومین سالگرد مادران آبان» خبر داد. او در همین زمینه ویدئوی گفتوگویی با مادر امیرحسین زارعزاده از کشتهشدگان آبان ۹۸ را منتشر کرد.
در این ویدئو مادر امیرحسین زارعزاده شرح میدهد که پس از یورش ماموران به آنها گفته است، نهتنها مرعوب فشارهای امنیتی نخواهد شد، بلکه بنر بزرگی از عکس فرزندش و دیگر کشتهشدگان آبان را بالا میبرد و روی آن مینویسد «خامنهای قاتل است».
