Instead of taking care of the security of the country first and putting the welfare of the citizens and soldiers first, the Prime Minister decided to fire the Minister of Defense and start a new round of appointments during the fighting, all in order to meet shameful political needs.
If a minister of defense can be replaced in the middle of a war, it is also possible to replace a prime minister who failed in his duties and neglected the security of the country and certainly establish a state commission of inquiry.

Israelis protesting Netanyahu's firing of his defense minister are blocking highways and roads across Israel, and some of the demonstrations are turning violent, even against IDF soldiers who attempt to remove the blockades.

๐นGallant had advocated an early ceasefire in Gaza, and was against a ground war in Lebanon. Many to the right saw him as still enslaved to the "old concepts" that got Israel in this mess to start with.
๐นNetanyahu pushed for tough military action, and Gallant and others accused him of desiring military victory over the return of the hostages.
Netanyahu had wanted to fire Gallant for months already, as he and his more right-wing coalition members saw the defense minister as an obstacle to TOTAL VICTORY.
Israel's new defense minister, Yisrael Katz, is on board with that agenda.
