Netanyahu: I decided to appoint Dr. Yehiel Leiter as Israel's ambassador to the United States.

Dr. Leiter served in senior positions in the public service in Israel. In between, he served as Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Education, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Finance, and Acting Chairman of the Israel Ports Company.

Doctor Leiter, a child of the United States, has a deep familiarity with the American government and society.

His son, the late Major Moshe Yadida, was killed fighting in Gaza on November 10, 2023.

Yehiel is a highly talented diplomat, an eloquent speaker, and has a deep understanding of American culture and politics. I am convinced that Chahiel will represent the State of Israel in the best possible way, and I wish him success in his position.
