Iranโs ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, has acknowledged the diverging interests between Russia and Iran in the region, challenging the notion of a โstrategic partnershipโ often professed in their joint stance against the US, The New York Times wrote on Tuesday.
โWe are not allies,โ Sobhani said. โWe have some differences, and we have some mutual interests. It doesnโt mean that we are allied.โ

Must read!
From the words of Christie Noam, who will be the Secretary of Homeland Security of the Trump administration, last March, in the midst of the wave of anti-Semitic protests against Israel on campuses across the US:
"When I was a child, my father would always gather our family together, and we would pray for Israel. From a very young age it was instilled in me that the Jews are God's chosen people, that Israel is the Holy Land, and that we should always pray for them.
I brought these core values with me when I got to Congress, and now as governor of South Dakota. Supporting the State of Israel and our Jewish community has always been very important to me. It is important to support Israel for spiritual, historical and security-national reasons. I continue to stand by the Jewish people by signing historic legislation to protect them from anti-Semitism.
I was shocked and shocked to see the horrific terrorist attacks on the State of Israel on October 7, 2023. And I continue to be heartbroken to see radical people in the United States standing by Hamas - standing by terrorists. Since October 7th, we have seen an alarming rise in anti-Semitic acts of hate around the world. We've even seen a few incidents here in South Dakota.
No one should ever have to worry about their safety when they go to school, when they go to work, when they try to live their normal lives. But this is the reality for so many Jews in the United States right now. We see antisemitism on university campuses, among high school students and even among middle school and elementary school students. This is unacceptable.
I was very proud to sign the bill HB 1076, this is a very important law to fight anti-Semitism. This law defines what antisemitism is in a way that helps prove when discriminatory behavior stems from antisemitism. This far-reaching legislation will ensure the safety of Jews and strengthen South Dakota's anti-discrimination laws.
We held a beautiful and moving signing ceremony for this law at the capitol building in Peer, the capital of Dakota. Prominent Jewish leaders participated in the ceremony. Some of our special guests said a few words about the impact this legislation will have on the Jewish people. You can watch the footage of the full signing ceremony here .
The people who were mainly behind this law are Representative Deutsch and Senator Melhoff who put in a lot of hard work with my office and with the members of the Jewish community to make sure that this is the best law to stop anti-Semitism and hatred. This law turns the definition of anti-Semitism as defined by the International Holocaust Remembrance Organization into a state law.
I hope more states across our great nation will follow the example we are setting here in South Dakota. It is more important than ever that our nation's leaders stand up and fight against anti-Semitism. We must always work to ensure the safety of the chosen people."
