American Pilot's Remarkable Feat in Iran

An American fighter pilot who was shot down over Iran during the war spoke to the media this week on the "60 Minutes" program, marking the first time he has spoken publicly since the incident.

According to him, after both crew members ejected from the fighter jet, they were approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles) apart when they landed.

The weapons officer said he likely impacted the ground at a speed of close to 160 kilometers per hour (100 miles per hour). He attributed his survival to "a testament to G-d's grace and support in my life."

After regaining consciousness and while severely injured, he moved towards higher ground to increase his chances of survival.

Pilot's Message to U.S. Special Forces:
"I'm injured, I'm moving; G-d is good."

The U.S. Air Force weapons officer, codenamed "Bravo," who was stranded behind enemy lines in Iran for two days after his F-15E fighter jet was shot down in April, explained to 60 Minutes that the phrase "G-d is good" was not just a message for him; it was an acknowledgment of everything G-d had allowed him to experience—from surviving the impact and the downing of the F-15E, to enduring the violent crash landing at high speed, to the two days of evading those actively searching for him.

In the midst of one of the most difficult moments of his life, only one phrase remained in his mind:
