Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro defended Putin by condemning the Wagner revolt a few days ago. Caracas is one of those countries heavily sanctioned by the US in the world that have not condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine. A nation that relies on drug trafficking, raw materials and gold to survive. According to 'El Mundo', Wagner controls the fields in Venezuela, including the Russian oil company Rosnfet. Also according to the newspaper, Wagner was present in Venezuela between 2019 and 2022 as Maduro's bodyguard. Finally, military cooperation between Moscow and Caracas is strong, recalling the landing of Russian strategic bombers in Caracas in 2019.
