🇺🇸🇲🇳 Mongolia supports cooperation with the United States for the extraction of rare earths according to President L. Oyun-Erdene who visited Washington in recent days. The President also says that a new cold war between the United States and China would be a catastrophe for the world economy. Mongolia is among the non-aligned countries in Central Asia and the Indo-Pacific ready to cooperate with the two powers. Often these nations have an interest in safeguarding the climate and their own economies rather than siding with Beijing or Washington. A phenomenon that makes very few countries in the region support either of the two contenders. Japan, South Korea, Australia and a few others for the US, Cambodia and partially North Korea for China.

🇮🇳 🇨🇳 Indian President Modi will not attend the next BRICS summit scheduled in South Africa from 22 to 24 August. The participation of Modi should be virtual. This choice is interesting because it shows how India plays on multiple tables. New Delhi wants to be a third alternative to Sino-American bipolarism in the Indo-Pacific. This is demonstrated by the cooperation with France in terms of military imports and commercial development. Without, however, supporting the United States completely. India opposes BRICS enlargement, while China and Russia are in favour. A balancing act to maintain its own independence.
