Tendar military observer: "For the first time in this war Ukrainian forces not only successfully crossed the Dnipro River but also the Konka River behind, establishing a permanent bridge head on the south/east side near Kozachi Laheri.

All Russian attempts to dislodge Ukrainians failed and the Russian recon unit initially investigating the Ukrainian landing was most likely destroyed"

Russian agent, Alexander Lugavoi, wanted for the murder of Alexander Litvinenko in London using Polonium 210 now has cancer linked to poison used in the hit.

The source are his medical letters which were leaked by Ukrainian cyber attrition aggregation Inform-Napalm.

A medical report dated April 5 indicated doctors had recommended โ€œradicalโ€ treatment but Lugovoy โ€œrefused surgery and radiation therapy in writingโ€.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ The CIA has recruited a chinese citizen in Italy according to China. Beijing claims that the spy was recruited by officials of the American embassy in Rome. Through dinners and meetings the secret agents have built a good relationship with Zeng, the name of the spy. Zeng knew sensitive information about the chinese military. In addition, the CIA influenced Zeng through western values to bring to China. Beijing also works in Europe with espionage, as London's warnings to Germany show. For many years, the CIA could not penetrate China and chinese counter-espionage activities were strong. Today, after the years of the war on terror, the CIA thinks that China is the main challenge. American intelligence services have already operated in Italy, especially with Operation Gladio during the Cold War.

Poland MoD, Mariusz Blaszczak, announced that Poland will buy 22 more AW101 heavy multirole helicopters produced by the Italian concern Leonardo. The announce arrived after the arrival in Poland of one helicopter of the same model. This unit is part of a batch of four that Poland decided to purchase signing a contract with Leonardo in 2019. The value of that contract was 380 million euro.

Currently, this first unit is undergoing tests at PZL Swidnik plants, owned by Leonardo, before being handed over to Poland armed forces. In the same plants are under construction 32 AW149 ordered in July 2022 with a 1.76 billion euro worth contract. These helicopters will be delivered between 2023 and 2029 and are going to equip Hellfire missiles, already ordered by Poland.
AW101, on the other hand, will be assembled in Yeovil in United Kingdom and Vergiate in Italy.

๐Ÿ“ˆThe Central Bank of Russia hiked the key interest rate from 8.5% to 12% after a public request from the Putin's administration.

"We believe that the key rate will remain at the current 12% level until the end of the year," Vasilyev said.

Two years after the return of the Taliban to Afghanistan, the situation for the "tomb of the empires" is terrible. Sharia has been introduced again and the situation of women is tragic. Women cannot go out without headgear, beauty centres have been closed and women are excluded from gyms. In addition, terrorism has increased. The Taliban cannot stop attacks by Islamic cells like ISIS KH and today Afghanistan is the country with the highest number of attacks in the world. The cultivation of the opium essential for heroin has decreased in the country. Opium is not intended under Sharia law. On a geopolitical level, some Arab countries like Qatar have restored some relations with the Taliban government. While China wants stable Afghan borders in Beijing's western frontier.

1๏ธโƒฃ So many words have been spent underlying the inferiorities in design, sensor suites, surfaces refinements and alike of eastern fifth gen fighters but is it that simple? Are the Su-57 and J-20 just inferior machines to the F-22 and the F-35? Well to a degree yes, this is the case, but as much as there's truth in stating that these fighters have some objectively worse characteristics, fact of the matter is that these lesser eastern machines are to be evalued through the lenses of their role within their countries doctrines, which are inherently asymmetrical and thus conduce such approach to aircraft development.
Lets start with western doctrine which is pretty straightforward: overwhelm any A2/AD bubble with as many stand off weapons as possibile and then penetrate them with stealth fighters supported by older generation platforms in order to strike high value assets (HVAs) like supply depots, airfields, command centers, equipment and troops concentrations and so on, disrupting the opposing forces capability to sustain a fight all the while using penetrating counter air (PCA) assets, that is the F-22 today and Ngad in the future) to achieve air dominance.

2๏ธโƒฃ Here's the catch: to do this, western air forces require themselves flying HVAs like tankers, awacs, electronic and signals intelligence (ELINT/SIGINT) planes which still tend to be large, cumbersome, slow and so generally very vulnerable platforms. Losing these assets would significantly diminish western air forces supremacy potential because information gathering, processing and distribution is the cornerstone of fifth generation warfare and is one of the so called enablers of modern air power. It only makes sense then that those are going to be priority targets for the opposing forces, and what better way to asimmetrically counter western air supremacy than through a relatively cheaper fighter, armed with very long range missiles, sensors good enough to track these platforms at long ranges and a radar cross section (RCS) just low enough to not be spotted before entering the weapons employment zone. So if used correctly they are going to be forces to be reckoned with in any real confrontation, well at least if there's going to be a non negligible quantity of them (i'm looking at you Felon). Recognizing this risk we are already seeing a shift in western military aviation towards smaller, faster and in some cases stealthier support assets: for example the implementation of MQ-25 drones as small and stealthy tankers, the development of smaller awacs planes like the G550 AEW or the E-7 Wedgetail, the ARTEMIS program which aims to field a survivable ELINT/SIGINT platform and is already in use around Ukraine but also the development of defenses for non survivable assets like lasers meant to fry incoming missiles sensors and small anti missile missiles.

3๏ธโƒฃ Finally I wanna spend a couple extra words about the usually bashed Su-57. The asymmetrical approach followed by the russian designers brought them to incorporate low band radar arrays in the wings and probably in the back of the plane in parallel to the high band fire control aesa array in the nose. Such radars, probably operating in S band, do not have the resolution required to generate a track of an enemy contact and so to guide a missile towards It, but crucially, since western fifth gen aircrafts are designed with high band very low observability in mind, they are able to spot F-22s and F-35s from fairly long distances of around 80 to 100 miles, making the Felon the least likely fighter in the world to be surprised by such planes. Given the fact that in russian air warfare doctrine planes are to be used to create ambushes for SAMs batteries and other planes to maximize western losses, this capability is a first and is very relevant on the battlefield.
In conclusion it is indeed true that eastern fifth generation aircrafts are worse than western designs when compared symmetrically, but when contextualized they suddenly become a very real threat to western air power and are not to be underestimated.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท According to the Financial Times, the United States and Iran are discussing possible agreements on several dossiers. In recent days Tehran has released American prisoners, while Washington plans to thaw six billion Iranian dollars from South Korea. In addition, the United States has asked Iran to end the transfer of drones to Russia. These are exploratory dialogues. After the crisis of early 2020 and Trumpโ€™s exit from the Iranian nuclear agreement, tensions have increased between Tehran and the US. The US Navy foils the potential Iranian seizure of oil tankers and Tehran claims that the US must leave Syria. The war in Ukraine and the Iran-internal uprisings of 2022 broke almost all relations between the two countries. But the Biden administration tries to dialogue with Iran despite many risks.
