🇺🇸🇮🇹 The Gladio organization was a paramilitary group composed of american and italian intelligence officers operating during the Cold War in Italy and Europe. According to Andreotti who revealed the existence of the organization in 1990, Gladio had more than 600 men in Italy. The organisation aimed to fight a possible soviet invasion and to counter the activities of pro soviet communist parties in Italy. In theory it was dissolved with the fall of the Soviet Union, but Gladio continued to operate. Gladio was involved in numerous attacks and in the 'strategy of tension' of the 1970s in Italy. Gladio's armaments were called 'NASCO' depots. Finally, according to many, the organisation was involved in the terrorist attacks in Italy in 1992 and 1993.
