Situation update in the last 10 hours in Israel:

- as expected, the Israeli response on the ground was limited. Only around 20:00 (CET) did further IDF forces attempt to retake settlements under Palestinian control.
This proved to be a difficult task for the IDF, both due to the presence of civilians nearby and also as hostages

- in Ofakim Hamas elements are still present inside the city, where a group of commandos entered the local police station and barricaded themselves there.
The news of at least 20 Israeli policemen killed inside the police station also turned out to be true, but for now it is not possible to establish whether it was a firefight or an execution.

- in Sderot IDF forces continue to fight with Hamas commandos, who use guerrilla tactics to target IDF forces

- In the south, IDF forces have not yet reached some settlements, contrary to what Israeli officials have claimed.
