This threatens a tactical encirclement around Dubovo-Vasylivka, where a large chunk of the 200th separate motorized rifle brigade is stationed and operates (between 500 and 2.000 effectives).
It has also been reported that the 9th motorized rifle regiment (under the 18th MRD) is now combat-ineffective having suffered a large number of casualties in the battle for Berkhivka itself.
The closest Russian unit (outside Bakhmut, where the units inside the city are unlikely to be moved in other directions to avoid further pressure on the city itself) is the 6th separate motor rifle regiment (formerly LNR militia), 8km north of Berkhivka, tasked with the defense of the northern sector of Bakhmut and Soledar against any Ukrainian advance from the north
