Clashes have reached the town and the road has become practically unusable for the time being.

The initial Ansarallah offensive was successful in capturing much of the strategic heights east of the road (Al-Akbush) but hasn’t succeeded in securing the road or cutting it off.

This is consistent with our earlier reporting; clashes remain ongoing, but the road has NOT yet been cut.

An Iranian ‘Varesh Airlines’ flight to Tajikistan was forced to turn back to Imam Khomeini Airport today after Turkmenistan refused to allow overflight of its airspace.

The captain attempted to get overflight permission from Azerbaijan, but was denied. All of this comes as part of newly implemented U.S. sanctions.
