NOTE: Yemen was not attacking U.S. vessels prior to March 2025, until Trump decided to bomb Yemen in an attempt to solve the Red Sea Crisis.

The objective was to stop the Houthis from targeting Israeli-affiliated shipping. This failed; attacks on Israeli shipping throughout the Red Sea continued into late 2025, and resulted in the Port of Eilat going bankrupt.

President Trump took credit for stopping the Yemenis attacking U.S. vessels—something they did not do prior to Operation Rough Rider.

This is a repeating pattern in Mr. Trump’s infantile mind. He creates a problem, then brags about solving the problem he himself had created.
