📚 MONEY 101: Pay Off Debt or Invest First?

It's the classic beginner question. A simple way to decide 👇

🔥 1. Compare the rates
Paying off a card that charges 20% interest is like earning a sure 20% a year. Very few investments beat that reliably.

🛟 2. Keep a small cushion
Hold a starter emergency fund (even one month of expenses) so a surprise bill doesn't push you back onto the card.

🎯 3. Attack the costliest first
List every debt. Pay minimums on all, then throw extra money at the highest rate (avalanche). Prefer quick wins? Clear the smallest balance first (snowball).

🤝 4. Don't skip free money
If your employer matches retirement contributions, put in at least enough to get the full match while you pay down debt.

⚖️ 5. Low-rate debt can wait
Cheap, fixed-rate loans (like many mortgages) can be paid on schedule while you start investing small and steadily.
