📢 🇵🇱 🇮🇱 Poland’s National Prosecutor’s Office has found that the Pegasus spyware system used by the country’s previous government was not fully under the control of Polish security agencies, potentially allowing its Israeli manufacturer, NSO Group, to access sensitive data collected from Polish citizens.
According to prosecutors, an analysis by Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) found that NSO Group could access infrastructure used to process and store operational data. Information transmitted through the system was also leaving Polish territory.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk called the findings a crime against the state and described the affair as one of the biggest scandals in Poland’s history since the fall of communism.
Tusk warned that sensitive information belonging to thousands, potentially tens of thousands, of Polish citizens could have been exposed to a foreign country without adequate control. He also claimed there was no doubt that Pegasus manufacturer NSO Group cooperated with Israeli security services.
Pegasus is a powerful surveillance tool capable of accessing mobile phones and extracting messages, browsing history and location data. Depending on the capabilities deployed, it can also access microphones and cameras.
The spyware was purchased under the previous Law and Justice (PiS) government, which has faced allegations that it was used to monitor political opponents, journalists and other public figures. The former administration denies wrongdoing, arguing that Pegasus was necessary for national security and used with court approval.
Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek said the system’s use endangered Poland’s national security. A parliamentary inquiry has also heard that judges who authorised surveillance were not fully informed about Pegasus’s capabilities.

The incident occurred during Operation Hovedstad, held from September 14 to 18, when Norway’s Home Guard District 02 trained for security operations, including scenarios involving the defence of Oslo Airport during wartime.
The Armed Forces had rented the cars through Hertz Norway under a nationwide rental agreement signed in 2024, worth up to 350 million Norwegian kroner and running until May 2028. Hertz Norway’s ownership chain ultimately leads to China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, which also owns Volvo Cars. The agreement provides rental vehicles for exercises, operational activities and everyday military use.
During the exercise, soldiers discovered that the cars had recorded and stored video footage. Lieutenant Fredrik Blanck told Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN) that the recordings showed who entered and exited the vehicles, where they travelled, whom they picked up and how long they remained at different locations.
More concerningly, the footage reportedly captured security codes entered by soldiers when opening military gates. Some access points require both a key card and a code, meaning the recordings could expose sensitive access procedures.
The vehicles remained in use throughout the exercise because alternative transport was in limited supply.

When The Gates Of Tech Dystopia Snap Shut | Caitlin Johnstone
The trapper is patiently pacing us into accepting mass surveillance, unfettered artificial intelligence advancement, militarized robots, police drones, digital currencies, propaganda, censorship, and the AI-assisted manipulation of the flow of information.
And then, when the time is right, the gate will come crashing down.

❗️Saudi Arabia detaining US citizens for filming Yemeni missile and drone attacks
The US Embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed that US citizens have been detained by Saudi authorities for filming recent events in the kingdom amid attacks by Yemen's Armed Forces.
In a statement, the embassy said that "American citizens have been detained for taking photos of recent events," without disclosing how many people were arrested or whether any had been released.
The mission also warned that Saudi authorities had declared that "filming, publishing, or sharing information related to counter missiles and drones and their impact sites exposes you to legal liability," underscoring Riyadh's restrictions on documenting the impact of attacks and its air defences.
