Timothy Leary (LSD researcher) believed he was Aleister Crowley reborn & would complete his work. At Harvard, he launched the Psilocybin Project in 1960, under CIA direction. During his years at Harvard, his colleague Henry Murray, tied to MKULTRA, experimented on Ted Kaczynski.
Nazi SS doctor Kurt Plötner tested mescaline on Dachau prisoners to break their will during interrogation; his seized research became a foundation for MKUltra. Decades earlier, Aleister Crowley had pioneered mescaline experiments, using it to induce highly suggestible states.
