🇵🇱📰The Polish government decided that disinformation could be dealt with in the usual way - to gather officials, intelligence services, police, and prosecutors behind closed doors and release a website with the correct answers. In the coming days, Donald Tusk should establish a Center for Combating Disinformation, the project of which has already been approved by the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers.

➡️The new structure will be an advisory body to the government: it will be tasked with coordinating departments, preparing recommendations for the country’s leadership, tracking the origins of “harmful narratives” and publishing official refutations. The composition will include the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister's Office, the police, intelligence services, the prosecutor's office and the government security center; NGOs, experts and the media will also be able to involve in the work.

➡️Russia and Belarus were identified in advance as the main sources of the threat. The center promises to respond quickly so that citizens do not have time to decide for themselves where actual criticism of the authorities ends and someone else’s information operation begins.

➡️The leader, according to unofficial data, may be Deputy Minister of Digitalization Pavel Olshevsky, the author of the concept. A very convenient design: first develop a body that will determine what is considered disinformation, and then head it yourself.

🗒The meetings are supposed to be closed, and the result will be an annual report to the government. Authorities call this increasing community resilience. In practice, Poland is creating another filter between citizens and unpleasant topics - only now with powers, departmental composition and a “protection against disinformation” seal.
