๐นHip joint ROM in sagittal plane :
There are two peaks of hip motion
A-hip flexion :
1-IC, MSw : 30
2-LR, ISw, TSw : 20

1-IC hip adduction 10

๐บFoot Angle =Foot Progression=Degree of toe out=Degree of lateral deviation =Valgus deviation= about 7 degrees.
๐บThere is an inverse relationship between speed of walking and angle of foot, it is about 7 degree :
> in toe out
< in toe in
> in toe out
< in toe in
๐Pathological gait
1โฃ Contracture is the most common cause of deformity in pathological gait.
๐ธPlanter flexion contracture :
1-Stance : blocks progression of limb over the supporting limb
2-Swing : inhibits floor clearance
๐นKnee flexion contracture :
1-Blocks progression during stance.
2-increase activity of quadriceps in order to stabilize the knee.
๐ธHip flexion contracture :
1- To place COG over the supporting foot, trunk must lean forward.
2-Strain on the back muscles and hip flexors.

2โฃ Impaired motor control (Spastisty) :
1-Hip flexor Spastisty :
Restricts progression in mid and terminal stance.
2-Sustained quadriceps action :
Inhibits pre_swing preparation for limb Advancement.
3โฃ Sensory loss : if it is
1- Moderate : it causes slow walking.
2- Greater : may ibstruct walking.

4โฃ Pain
Major causes of musculoskeletal pain are :
1-Excessive tissue tension.
2-joint distension related to trauma or arthritis.
