📷Our desires are mutable
The yearnings of humans are subject to change. Our mistake is that instead of trying to change our longings, we just aspire to fulfill them. If we change our longings and desires so that we can promote them, then we will be able to fulfill them better and therefore gain more pleasure out of them. The road to the promotion of our longings is turning our backs on worthless desires.

O God! If possible, leave some time for me in a corner of seclusion in this world, whether I am asleep or awake, so that I would be called to account for all my deeds by the time I am summoned to stand at Al-Mahshar desert (gathering place on the Judgment day). I am not able to account for or compensate for what I have done, yet I might come to myself afterwards or at the very least cry over my condition or beg for forgiveness from you.

One first becomes "aware" of the existence of God; then he starts to have "faith" in God with inner peace, and then after the recitation of the Quran he becomes "acquainted" with Him. Next, through acting in accordance with his commands, he becomes "closer" to Him, and after that through supplications and prayers he gains "proximity" to God. Having taken all these steps, he becomes one of God's "favorites" through acting with humbleness and having love towards the friends of God and being at their service, and finally they fall in love with God.
