👌🏼 Actions speak louder than words.

When raising children, let us pay attention to this famous proverb, “Actions speak louder than words.”
More than just talking, we must teach our child concepts by way of our actions. Consider the way numbers, addition and subtraction are taught in elementary school, where children are continuously learning math using their hands, by counting fruits, etc.
For example, the concept of being orderly should be shown to children in action. They must feel that we are orderly. Suppose you are advising your child to pray while your house is cluttered and you are not praying in a timely manner. Without a doubt, this environment will greatly reduce the effect of your words. If what we tell our children is different from what they see in us, we should not expect to get the best result in training them.

Dawn, the best time to be alone

When being alone one can find himself more easily in the same way that one can forget himself more too. When one is alone, this is the time for gaining many advantages. The best time that one can be alone in order to gain many advantages is at dawn. One can gain much at dawn by reviewing his good aspirations.

Praying means…

Praying means repeating good words and expressing high wishes before God. It is a pity to talk about small things before the great God. Praying for big things makes us God’s companions.

Lasting sweetness in married life

The way to achieve lasting sweetness in married life is not by looking for a flawless spouse! More than anything else, sweetness in life depends on one's good behavior even if one does not receive a good response. Looking for a flawless spouse is itself a big flaw.

A glorious, sacred institution

In order to strengthen the family and take advantage of the opportunities it presents, we must first realize that the family is something glorious and sacred. The family is one of the most important divine blessings, and it can be a place for a person’s self-improvement and spiritual growth. The family is not something like a hotel, which is just a place for resting and eating. Rather, it is the most important place for training, practicing guardianship and serving God.

🔲 Religion’s main purpose isn’t controlling our behaviors and carnal desires.
🔲 Religion’s main mission is to change our inner behavior, our mind and thinking.

👉🏼
#ControllingMyMind (26)

There are two types of human behaviors: physical behavior such as walking and talking, plus internal or spiritual behavior that has a higher value. We should not degrade religion by saying it just wants to control our physical behaviors.

The rules for what is obligatory or forbidden in religion are more related to behavior. This is not because religion’s main mission is in this area. These rules are so that we will observe the minimum requirements. Why is there a Hell? It is for us to avoid some things in order to go toward God. I cannot convince myself that I have a religion that just tells me not to go to Hell!

Religion wants to change our hearts for us to discover our love and dependence on God. It wants us to be pious in our thoughts and not just stop us from doing wrong actions! Religion wants us to fall in love with God, a love beyond all the loves we have ever experienced. We can never understand even a particle of the love that made Lady Fatima (as) tremble in her prayers.

Imam Sajjad (as) told God in a prayer, “Help me to become negligent about carnal desires by remembering You.” [Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 91, p. 127] By remembering God, we can control our mind. A mind that keeps jumping here and there is destructive for a human being.

Curiosity is good for a scientist who wants to discover a substance or wishes to invent something. But curiosity is like poison for a person who squanders his time to see what catches his eye in the internet! That he may see unlawful scenes isn’t good, but the main problem is he won’t have any control over his mind.

Browsing in the internet or social media just to spend time is an insult to humanity! One may say, "Let's join this group because it has many interesting things!" But let's look at the issue from this angle. If we spend our lives on things that others have made to keep us busy, what will be left of our minds and humanity?

📌 Two important points we must pay attention to in teaching religious concepts to children

🛑 Transferring religious concepts to children is not a complicated task as long as we are careful and pay attention to a couple of simple points.

🔻 Have suitable preparation.
👉🏼 To transfer religious concepts to children, the background must be prepared first. This preparation does not mean just religious preparation. This can also be done without using religion. That is, we can talk to children based on the language they have learned throughout their lives. For example, they have seen and experienced their parent’s love. Well, this love can be used to recognize God’s love. We can tell the child, “See how kind your mother is. God is kinder than she is!” Sometimes these methods, which do not seem to be direct religious training, are more effective.

🔻 Consider the child's language.
👉🏼 We should convey religious concepts in a language that the child understands. For example, when answering a child who asks the meaning of “Subhanallah,” we should use the words that his mother uses when talking to him and that he fully understands. We can say that “Subhanallah” means God is perfect! Similarly, it is hard for a child to understand that “Allahu Akbar” means God is greater than anything we can describe. Instead of translating this literally, we can say, “God is strong and supports all of us.” The language we use must be understandable and recognizable to the child.
