Praying, “O God protect me for Yourself,” is much better than saying, “O God, protect me.” God should protect us so that we can do what? What do we sacrifice ourselves for? God should protect us, and then we put ourselves in danger? We ask God to protect us so that we can put ourselves in danger. No, the best protection is for God to protect us for Himself, so that we won’t be wasted uselessly or overcome by brutal people.
