#GenZ is often referred to as one of the most unique, values-driven generations. They see identity as fluid and care about social impact, with 56% considering themselves socially conscious, according to #Pinterest.
There are over 37 million aesthetic related boards on Pinterest, with Gen Zβers searching for βaestheticβ 447% more than #Millennials. Through aesthetic boards like witch, grunge and love, Gen Z is finding their identity.

ββπ How Pinterest Compares to Other Social Networks Pre-IPO
#Pinterest announced the price range for its long-awaited initial public offering (#IPO) on Monday morning. The social media company, slated for a public trading debut next week, plans to sell 75,000,000 shares at a price of $15 to $17. At this price range, Pinterest would be valued between $10 and $11.3 billion, surprisingly lower than the $12.3 billion valuation it had when it last raised capital as a private company in 2017. It would also be less than half the valuation that Snap (#Snapchat's parent company) was given in its much-hyped IPO in 2017, despite the fact that Pinterest has more users and is closer to profitability than Snap was ahead of its public trading debut in March 2017.
As the following chart illustrates, Pinterest generated $756 million in revenue last year, posting a net loss of $63 million. In the year leading up to Snapβs $24 billion IPO, its revenue and net loss amounted to $405 and -$515, respectively. Snap had 158 million daily active users by the time it went public, while Pinterest had 265 million monthly active users at the end of 2018. Pinterest also compares favorably to #Twitter, which went public in November 2013 at a $14 billion valuation with less to show for than Pinterest has now.

Pinterest keeps its top place for another year with 80% customer satisfaction rate in 2019, with no changes from 2018.
Snapchat's customer satisfaction rate was measured for the first time (by ASCI) in 2019 at 71%, just below the #SocialMedia average at 72%.
After the #CambridgeAnalytica scandal, it comes as no surprise that #Facebook is still struggling to revive its plummeting reputation, scoring the worst out of all platforms. They were also accused of dispersing disinformation, censoring political speeches and allowing foreign interference in the US 2016 election and Brexit.

1. for those of you who use Pinterest, this can help you reach A LOT more users.
2. for those of you who don't use Pinterest, well, you might wanna reconsider if you do anything that could use more exposure or online traffic.

Back in 2016, Twitter switched categories, from "Social Networking" to "News" on the App Store and Google Play, hoping to boost its visibility. It did take it to the top of the chart in more than one occasion.
Fours years later, #Twitter is having a record-breaking week, according to two well-respected app store intelligence companies, Apptopia and SensorTower. Although their numbers are not precisely the same, they both show the same overall picture: flocks of new and returning Twitter users β almost 1 million new users in a day!
And why that is?
The world is amid civil unrest and protests for the death of #GeorgeFloyd and racial inequality. At the same time, #coronavirus has disrupted the life around the globe in its first wave and threatening with a second one. Twitter itself is in the news for standing up to Donald #Trump for sharing misleading information and/or promoting violence. While many people are outside protesting, many are stuck at home from the coronavirus threat. These all cause the need for immediacy in the news to be more than ever. And Twitter is serving that need.
Since the beginning of online social networking β web 2.0 phenomena before that β many of the "social" platforms have evolved to become more. Twitter has become a social news platform feeding the need for immediacy in the news; #Pinterest has become a social/visual search engine, etc.
These changes in the platforms, which many of us use daily, need to be reflected in the way we use them β personally or professionally β the same way it was considered in Twitter's change of categories.
