Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office claims that Washington's purported decision to terminate all US military aid to Tel Aviv by the end of this year represents a shift toward "partnership and mutual investment," attempting to minimize growing political fallout from the White House's sudden policy reversal.

In an official statement published on social media, Netanyahu's office defended past military assistance, asserting that Israeli occupation forces used US aid "to defend itself and to confront enemies who threaten America and the West."

Rebranding the claim by the US that there will be an end of taxpayer-funded arms transfers, the statement alleged that "the move by PM Netanyahu and President Trump from aid to partnership shows the strength and sophistication of our relationship."

However, Netanyahu's positive spin directly contradicted statements from Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who acknowledged on Thursday that Donald Trump's announcement struck political leaders in Jerusalem "like a bolt from the blue."

Defending the coalition's handling of the rupture, Netanyahu spokesperson Doron Spielman told Fox News that the prime minister was actively collaborating with the White House to transition out of direct aid.

US President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that Washington is weighing a devastating fresh round of military operations that could "destroy the rest of Iran," warning that any collapse of diplomatic negotiations will trigger an immediate escalation.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office following a high-level national security briefing, Trump indicated that military planners are preparing targets to permanently neutralize Iran's nuclear capabilities and critical infrastructure.

Around 30 Israeli settlers, some of whom were armed, took over eight homes in Ein Al-Duyuk Al-Tahta on the outskirts of Jericho in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday.

❗️Turkiye says proposed gas pipeline with Turkish Cypriots could power all of Cyprus

Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said a proposed natural gas pipeline connecting Turkiye with the breakaway Turkish Cypriot community could eventually supply electricity to the entire island of Cyprus.

Announced earlier this year, the project involves constructing a mostly subsea, 101-kilometer pipeline to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to supply the community with natural gas. Ankara says the infrastructure could also eventually be connected to Europe.

Speaking to international media representatives in Istanbul on Thursday, Bayraktar said Turkiye plans to transport gas to the island to fuel a power plant, allowing the Turkish Cypriot administration to generate its own electricity. If an agreement is reached between the two sides, the TRNC could eventually supply some of that electricity to the Greek Cypriot government.

"If we find some gas or someone else can find some in ​the eastern Mediterranean, they ​can use ⁠this pipeline with the reverse flow and they can bring the gas to the island and from the island to ​Turkey and to the European market," he said.

Bayraktar also said Ankara remained open to energy cooperation with Greece.
