🇺🇸 U.S. – Blinken on Kazakhstan: "we remain very concerned about the ongoing state of emergency." He urged its gov't to respond "appropriately, proportionately and in a way that upholds the rights of protesters." He reiterated US "full support for Kazakhstan's constitutional institutions."

Blinken continues on Kazakhstan: It's "not clear why they feel the need for any outside assistance." They are trying to get more information.

Blinken says: i would not conflate these situations (re Ukraine and Kazakhstan). "there are very particular drivers about what is happening in Kazakhstan.. and what is happening there is very different from what is happening on Ukraine's borders."
