Es kam eine linke Regierung an die Macht, die dem Covidianismus frönte. Das Volk hat die Masken angenommen. Das Spiel nicht durchschaut. Ebenso Lula der Sozialhilfe nur für durchgeimpfte Kinder will (ob mit oder Covid ist nicht sicher) ausgeben will und der Sätze sagt wie: "Wenn die Wissenschaft, daß ich mich 50 mal impfen lassen soll, dann mache ich das. pelo amor de deus (um himmels willen)." Ich spreche portugiesisch. Also mit solchen Sozialisten zusammenarbeiten? Wie soll das gehen? Ich könnte darauf wetten, hätte die linke Regierung in Chile nicht so reagiert, hätte die Rechte, behauptet, die Regierung würde tatenlos zusehen, genauso wie die AFD das hier im Frühjahr 20 auch gemacht hat.

Ich hätte mich gefreut, wenn man in diesem Film die Umweltverschmutzung als etwas dargestellt hätte, was von der unwissenschaftlichen Klimapanikmache klar abgegrenzt wäre. Beide Themen, die Umweltverschmutzung und den Klimawandel, hat man nämlich schon vor Jahren extra so vermischt, dass man das Sinnvolle von der Lüge kaum unterscheiden kann. Nun, diese Unterscheidung vermisse ich in vielen, auch in den sonst sehr guten Filmen... Ich erachte das Vorgehen gegen die Umweltschäden als sinnvoll, bin aber nicht damit einverstanden, dass die gleichen Leute, die diese Schäden zu verantworten haben, unwissenschaftliches Zeug über den angeblich menschengemachten Klimawandel sprechen, u.a. um neue Klimasteuer abzukassieren. Trotzdem, ein sehenswerter Film !

This is well worth a listen (8 minutes). There’s no question that atmospheric CO2 concentrations are around 1/3rd higher than 60 years ago. Human burning fuels probably account for some perhaps most of it, though I don’t think we know for sure.
Warming is slight & well within the range that’s occurred many times before in deep geological history. Because measurements have been politicised, I don’t accept the argument that “the rate of warming is unprecedented”. That’s what happens when you cheat. Little is then believed. Ironically even if it’s true, it won’t be believed.
What’s incontrovertible is global greening. [CO2] is not far above the lowest it’s ever been in earth’s history & also not far above the lower limit below which plants simply perish. They require it to grow. The sole carbon source in plants is atmospheric CO2.
Greenhouse cultivators have long known that adding CO2 to their glasshouses greatly increases yields while not increasing need for water, we think we because plants need to open their leaf pores less to get adequate CO2, and since they lose water through the same pores, this helps plants thrive in environments where, previously, water was limiting. The most interesting greening is therefore at the margins of deserts. Looks like the catastrophists are off target & we get more food with less water stress. It’s at least not a bad thing. It’s all models that what appears to most people (1.5 to 2C) to be very modest warning is reckoned to lead to catastrophic destruction of the environment. Given the political mood music and that the Malthusians want the story to match their synthetic concerns, it’s extraordinarily difficult to credit anything the IPCC now says.
I’ve about as much trust in them as I do the BBC. Nil.
I’d rather listen to retired students of the many disciplines involved. Less likely to hold strong biases (we all have them, but the intensity falls when your economic wellbeing no longer turns on them!).

On a related topic, JBP held a really interesting, extended conversation with Judith Curry, a former academic who was a lifetime atmospheric scientist, now offering advisory services. Asked who her main clients were, she listed insurance companies as pretty much top of the list. Sounds like they don’t trust the official prognosticators either, and have risk businesses to run profitably.
