Challenge to Practicality β John 1:43
Jesus found Philip in Galilee. Philip, at his best, was a practical and sensible man.[1] At his worst, Philip was earth-bound and without imagination.[2] Yet Jesus saw something special in Philip. He was of eternal value, just like any other person. However, Jesus also felt Philip had something unique to offer to the work of the Kingdom. So, led by God after a night of fervent prayer,[3] Jesus selected Philip as one of his 12 apostles. Remarkably, when Jesus called him to be his disciple, Philip followed Jesus immediately and gave up everything.
Jesus obviously sees more in us than others see, just as he did with Philip. He also gives us the opportunity to do the daring, awesome, and adventurous: to follow him and to be used by him, in mighty ways. Are you ready for adventure? Then come follow Jesus!
Today's Prayer
Gracious and Almighty God, forgive me for clinging to my habits, my earthbound forms of security, and my fears about surrendering everything to you. Please inspire me to the courage to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. In the name of my Savior and Trailblazer, I pray. Amen.

Is your mind constantly being pulled in every directionβ
You sit down to pray, but suddenly you remember something you need to do.
You open your Bible, but your phone lights up.
One notification becomes another...
And before you realize it, your attention has been everywhereβ¦except on God.
Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, distraction does not always look dangerous.
Sometimes it creeps in quietly.
So if your mind feels scattered today, here are three verses you can take with you in the battle.
βοΈ Battle Verse #1
Psalm 119:10 KJB says:
βWith my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.β
Sometimes we do not deliberately turn away from God.
We simply wander. Our attention, our thoughts, our priorities all wander...
But when you notice it happening, do not stay there.
Recognize it. Correct it. Return to God.
βοΈ Battle Verse #2
2 Timothy 2:4 KJB says:
βNo man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.β
There is a difference between living your life and becoming entangled in it.
Work, responsibilities, entertainment, notifications, arguments, worry, and endless scrolling can fill your mind while leaving your spirit starving.
Sometimes fighting distraction means removing something.
Turn the notifications off. Put your phone away, close those open tabs, stop feeding useless thoughts, and walk away from pointless arguments.
Not everything deserves access to your attention!
βοΈ Battle Verse #3
Hebrews 12:2 KJB says:
βLooking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.β
This is where the battle comes down to one question:
Where are you looking?
You can spend all day trying not to look at distractionsβ¦
or you can deliberately turn your eyes toward Jesus Christ.
Open His Word, daily. Pray, daily. Thank Him, Praise Him, Worship Him, and remember all that HE has done for you!
Because, the world will constantly shout:
βLook over here!β
But not everything deserves your eyes, your ears, your thoughts, your time, your energy or your attention.
Jesus Christ does.
Warrior, distraction does not always try to make you abandon God completely.
Sometimes it simply keeps you busy enough that God receives whatever attention is left over, if any.
Do not give the LORD your leftovers.
Give Him your first thoughts. Your best attention, your heart, mind, soul, and time.
He has given you time, so use it for HIM.
Keep moving forward with Jesus Christ.
God is with you, so stand firm!

My Old Nature Put to Death
Ephesians 4:22-24
Ephesians 4:22-24
Dear Father, righteous and holy God,
Enable me to put away completely my old human nature - the former lifestyle corrupted by deceitful desires.
Help me to be renewed in the spirit of my mind, to put on a new nature, created in your likeness in true righteousness and holiness.
Father, make me holy like Jesus, righteous with his righteousness!
In the name of the holy Jesus I pray for true holiness within me. Amen."His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven." β Song of Songs 5:11
Comparisons all fail to set forth the Lord Jesus, but the spouse uses the best within her reach. By the head of Jesus we may understand his deity, "for the head of Christ is God" and then the ingot of purest gold is the best conceivable metaphor, but all too poor to describe one so precious, so pure, so dear, so glorious. Jesus is not a grain of gold, but a vast globe of it, a priceless mass of treasure such as earth and heaven cannot excel. The creatures are mere iron and clay, they all shall perish like wood, hay, and stubble, but the ever living Head of the creation of God shall shine on for ever and ever. In him is no mixture, nor smallest taint of alloy. He is for ever infinitely holy and altogether divine. The bushy locks depict his manly vigour. There is nothing effeminate in our Beloved. He is the manliest of men. Bold as a lion, laborious as an ox, swift as an eagle. Every conceivable and inconceivable beauty is to be found in him, though once he was despised and rejected of men.
"His head the finest gold;
With secret sweet perfume,
His curled locks hang all as black
As any raven's plume."
The glory of his head is not shorn away, he is eternally crowned with peerless majesty. The black hair indicates youthful freshness, for Jesus has the dew of his youth upon him. Others grow languid with age, but he is for ever a Priest as was Melchizedek; others come and go, but he abides as God upon his throne, world without end. We will behold him to-night and adore him. Angels are gazing upon him-his redeemed must not turn away their eyes from him. Where else is there such a Beloved? O for an hour's fellowship with him! Away, ye intruding cares! Jesus draws me, and I run after him.
The Bible strictly condemns lying and views truthfulness as a core reflection of God's Character.
Lying of any type is WRONG in God's sight.
THE DEVIL IS THE FATHER OF LIES. ( John 8:33 )
GOD HATES LYING
LYING is a mark of an unfaithful person. ( Proverbs 14:5 )
LYING reveals a lack of Godliness. ( Proverbs12:17 )
LYING is a cause of unanswered prayer. (Isaiah 59:2-3 )
LYING often accompanies other Sins.( Hosea 4:1-2 )
LIARS will go to Hell and perish. ( Revelation 21:8 )
Ask God to help you stop lying.
