I praise You that You are faithful. Help me not to fall from grace. When I fail, please forgive me my sin and cleanse me.

I pray I may not be buried in guilt, shame, regret and remorse but come to Your mercy and godly repentance with no regret. Teach me to grow in grace and in knowledge of our Savior to be more like Him each and every passing day.

I ask that You turn me from any sinful acts and temptation and set me back on the sanctification pathway that I may return to fellowship with You.

Have you ever wished you could devote an entire service to worshiping God through music, songs, and other expressions of worship? Do you want a special time where you can have a bit more freedom without the constraints of what is required of a typical prayer gathering?

*Prayer Room Church* is happy to introduce “Night of Worship” sessions. These are times when we gather as a church and have extended times of music, singing, prayer, and praise. Our worship nights typically won't have a sermon or teaching time. They tend to be more expressive, the music tends to be a bit louder and fuller, and the interaction with the congregation seems to decrease.

Granted, we should not limit “worship” to just our music and singing. We’ve all participated in that debate and the constant struggle over referring to the music portion of our worship services as the “worship time”, as if the sermon or other elements were not worship. Let’s put that debate aside and just acknowledge that for the sake of this session, we’re referring to a “Night of Worship” as a gathering focused around the musical aspects of worship.

A praise & worship night is a time where people gather to focus on God through singing, praising, worshing, prayer, and reflection, lifting our voices in adoration and seeking a deeper connection with the divine. These nights create a dedicated space for spiritual encounter, often involving communal singing, messages from scripture, and opportunities for personal devotion and a surrendered heart to God's presence.

*WHAT HAPPENS DURING A PRAISE & WORSHIP NIGHT?*

✅Singing and Music:
Participants sing songs of praise, glory, and adoration to God, often led by a worship music.

✅Prayer:
Participants engage in prayer, both group and individual, to express gratitude, seek guidance, and surrender to God's will.

✅Focus on God's Presence:
The core purpose is to create an atmosphere where God's presence is invited and felt, leading to a personal and collective encounter with Him.

✅Scripture Reading:
Readings from the Bible, such as Psalms, may be included to highlight God's attributes and inspire worship.

✅Reflection and Surrender:
The night provides a time to acknowledge God's worthiness and goodness, fostering a spirit of humility and deep reliance on Him.

To create a space for encountering God and focusing solely on Him.

✅Community:
To gather together, whether in-person or online, to share in this collective act of devotion.

✅Spiritual Growth:

While the core elements are consistent, the specific songs, themes, and flow of the night can vary based on the worship leader's vision and the congregation's needs.

I pray that deception will have no influence on me. I ask that deceivers will be muted. Help me to remember that all truth is centered in Christ.

I confess that I live in a confusing world. Satan is always distorting the distinction between right and wrong, good and evil, moral and immoral.

Give me discernment to recognize and renounce false teachers and unbiblical doctrine. Teach me to hold fast to what is good and wholesome.

Father, help me to grow in my knowledge of Jesus Christ, and the Scriptures and my heart to align with Your Word and sound doctrine.

I confess that there is the chasm between what I am and what I want to be. Help me to bring those two together. 

When I fail, bring my sin to light and purify me. Bring me to honest repentance when I lie to myself, to You or to anybody.

Help me not to follow our own crooked ways but to stay on Your straight path of truth. 

May each step I take along a path of integrity bring me greater joy and be an encouragement to others.

'Taming the Rebel Heart' — Matthew 5:41

[Jesus continued:] "If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles."— Matthew 5:41 NLT

Key Thought

A bitter-hearted rebel lives in many of us. We hate it when someone takes advantage of us. We view the lane-changing, frenzied, aggressive driver as a jerk and sometimes look to get even with him or her. This bitter-hearted rebel also lived in many Jewish hearts. When Roman soldiers imposed on them to carry their equipment, they resented it deeply. Jesus reminds us, however, that his Kingdom family reorders all human relationships. Jesus wants us to ask, "How can I be a redemptive blessing even toward those who mistreat me?" His challenging commands awaken us to our responsibility as God's children. We are to lead others to Jesus, even those others that we don't particularly like. Incredibly, the impetuous Peter learned this lesson and taught the churches in Asia Minor the same principle.* Even more incredibly, the apostle Paul (originally known as Saul) was at first a persecutor of Christians but then became the product of a movement that from its very beginning sought to convert, not condemn, its greatest opponents and oppressors.** But then, the heart of the Kingdom is to follow a King who forgave his persecutors, revilers, and murderers at Passover so they could become his disciples at Pentecost.

Today's Prayer

Compassionate Father, please give me the grit and grace to act redemptively in the lives of even those who are irritants, opponents, and problems in my life. Through your Spirit, soften my heart that I might see your goal of winning even the most difficult people in my life to Christ, rather than trying to get even with them. In Jesus' holy and precious name, I pray. Amen.
