TRUTH BE TOLD, glory to God, yes.

"Brethren, pray for us." — 1 Thessalonians 5:25

This one morning in the year we reserved to refresh the reader's memory upon the subject of prayer for ministers, and we do most earnestly implore every Christian household to grant the fervent request of the text first uttered by an apostle and now repeated by us. Brethren, our work is solemnly momentous, involving weal or woe to thousands; we treat with souls for God on eternal business, and our word is either a savour of life unto life, or of death unto death. A very heavy responsibility rests upon us, and it will be no small mercy if at the last we be found clear of the blood of all men. As officers in Christ's army, we are the especial mark of the enmity of men and devils; they watch for our halting, and labour to take us by the heels. Our sacred calling involves us in temptations from which you are exempt, above all it too often draws us away from our personal enjoyment of truth into a ministerial and official consideration of it. We meet with many knotty cases, and our wits are at a non plus; we observe very sad backslidings, and our hearts are wounded; we see millions perishing, and our spirits sink. We wish to profit you by our preaching; we desire to be blest to your children; we long to be useful both to saints and sinners; therefore, dear friends, intercede for us with our God. Miserable men are we if we miss the aid of your prayers, but happy are we if we live in your supplications. You do not look to us but to our Master for spiritual blessings, and yet how many times has He given those blessings through His ministers; ask then, again and again, that we may be the earthen vessels into which the Lord may put the treasure of the gospel. We, the whole company of missionaries, ministers, city missionaries, and students, do in the name of Jesus beseech you

I slow down and quiet my heart to listen for Your inner guidance. Please draw me closer to You.

When I lose my way, bind anything that blinds my mind and clouds my understanding.

Pour out upon me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know You more deeply and truly.

Let Your Holy Spirit seek me out in love and lovingly convict me of my continual need for You, renewing my heart each day.

Are you standing on God’s promises…or on your feelings and emotions❔

Take a moment to meditate upon this question.

Because fear can feel loud. Doubt can feel convincing. Circumstances can look overwhelming. And when life feels uncertain, it is easy to start treating the promises of God like they are fragile.

But God’s Word does not become weak just because your emotions feel weak.

God’s faithfulness does not change just because your feelings do.

2 Corinthians 1:20 KJB says:
“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”

ALL the promises of God in Christ are yes and Amen!

That means your confidence is not built on how strong you feel today. It is not built on how perfect your circumstances look. It is not built on whether you can see the full picture right now.

Your confidence is in Jesus Christ alone.

So stop standing on fear.
Stop standing on doubt.
Stop standing on every anxious thought that tries to tell you God will not come through.

Stand on what God has spoken, through HIS Word.

Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, God’s promises are not fragile.
His Word is not unstable. His truth is not shaken by the storm around you.

If God said it, He is faithful.
If God promised it, He is able.

If your feelings are weak, stand on His Word anyway.
If the battle is tough, trust His promises anyway.
If you can't see the road ahead, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus Christ anyway.

You do not need your feelings or emotions to be perfect for God’s Word to be true.

So lift your head.
Plant your feet on the promises of God.

Believe His Word.
Trust His faithfulness, for HE is faithful who promised.

Stand firm, knowing God is with you!
