'Witness to the Light and Example to Me'

John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.— John 1:8 NLT

John the Baptizer was an incredible man. He was a prophet, inspired by God's Spirit. He spoke with an authority and authenticity long silent among God's people. He courageously declared the truth to everyone no matter that person's rank and no matter his own personal cost. But ... John was only a witness to God's light - Jesus, God's real Word and only Son. And as important as John was, his importance was as a servant to the light. John freely testified to his function. [1] He knew his role. He refused to be a point of contention. He is a great example to us of what we can and should be to our loved ones and friends - a witness, someone who points others to the truth and light of Jesus.

Today's Prayer

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for John the Baptizer. Thank you for such a powerful example and such a wonderful person of integrity and humility. Please use me to point those in my circle of influence to the truth about Jesus as I seek to live with integrity and humility before them. In the name of the Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen

STOP SINNING AND START REPENTING

Many people want God’s protection, provision, and blessings while continuing to live in deliberate disobedience. The Bible teaches that sin is never without consequences. What may begin as a private compromise can eventually affect every area of life; our relationship with God, our peace of mind, our physical well-being, our finances, and our relationships. God is holy, and He calls His people to walk in obedience rather than expecting Him to continually remove the consequences of willful sin.

The good news is that God’s mercy is greater than our failures. He does not reject those who sincerely repent and turn back to Him. Through Jesus Christ, there is forgiveness, restoration, and the power to live a transformed life. Instead of making excuses for sin, let us humble ourselves before God, confess our sins, and pursue righteousness. True freedom and lasting blessing are found in a life of obedience to the Lord.

Divine favour is one of the keys that opens doors no human effort can unlock. It causes ordinary people to experience extraordinary opportunities because God’s hand is upon them. Favour will position you where your qualifications cannot, give you access where others are denied, and cause people to support the purpose of God for your life. Yet favour flows where there is humility, obedience, and a heart that seeks the Lord. As you contend for your open doors this month, pray not only for opportunities but also for God’s favour to rest upon your life. When the Lord surrounds you with His favour, every obstacle becomes an opportunity for His glory to be revealed.

Father, thank You for Your favour that surrounds me like a shield. Let Your hand rest upon my life and open doors that no one can shut. Cause me to find favour with You and with people. May every appointment, conversation, interview, meeting, and opportunity be directed by Your divine favour. Let my life bring glory to Your Name. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

Draw each of them closer to You as they walk through these difficult times.

Ours are the alms at the king's gate, but they feast at the table itself. Here we lean upon the friendly arm, but there they lean upon their Beloved and upon him alone. Here we must have the help of our companions, but there they find all they want in Christ Jesus. Here we look to the meat which perisheth, and to the raiment which decays before the moth, but there they find everything in God. We use the bucket to fetch us water from the well, but there they drink from the fountain head, and put their lips down to the living water. Here the angels bring us blessings, but we shall want no messengers from heaven then. They shall need no Gabriels there to bring their love-notes from God, for there they shall see him face to face. Oh! what a blessed time shall that be when we shall have mounted above every second cause and shall rest upon the bare arm of God! 1. When you step out of faith, you cannot live with God.
2. In the kingdom, you believe before you see, not seeing before believing.

5. The fact that there is a delay does not mean you should lose trust in God because you need Him.
6. Knowing the Word of God without being born again does not make you a citizen of heaven.

8. You came into the kingdom by faith, and you must stay in the kingdom by faith.
9. You need faith because once you become born again, you become a target of the enemy.
10. The devil’s job is to attack, and your job is to resist.

13. You are not a failure until your faith fails.
14. Right hearing leads to right believing, and right believing leads to right manifestation.
15. The devil is not interested in your possessions, but he attacks everything that concerns you to reach your faith.
16. Your faith determines the validity of your assignment.
17. Faith pushes Satan away and invites God.
