(Luke 14:11)
*Prayer :*
I admit that in my flesh I often seek people’s appreciation and recognition.
Teach me to follow in Jesus’ footsteps, to walk in humility, even when humiliated.
I need Your help to be free from the desire to flaunt my own importance before others.
Grant me the freedom to gracefully refuse honors and accept humiliations with calmness.
Help me to be mindful of others’ needs, to step back and allow them to take the spotlight.
I choose a lowly place, trusting that You will draw me closer to You.
In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

This may come as a shock, but Israel didn’t get what they were promised; they only got what they fought for. Everyone got deliverance from Egypt, but not everyone got dominion in the promised land. Only those who were willing to “tread” on, exercise their authority, crush the enemy, wage warfare and fight got something.
'Rejected!' — John 1:10-11
Jesus had made everything in the universe, including the earth and all its peoples. Yet when he came to his very own chosen people, they did not accept him. Think a minute about what that means for us when we feel alone, deserted, misunderstood, forgotten, abused, ...: We have a Savior who knows how badly it hurts to be rejected by those we love; he's experienced it. He knows what it's like to be spurned by one we treasure; he felt it repeatedly. He knows what it's like to be despised by those for whom we have made major sacrifices. So when we have those overwhelming times of heartbreak, we can go to him and know he is a caring friend who has been there. He hears us and will minister to our needs and listen to our cries.
Today's Prayer
Father, it saddens me deeply to know that Jesus had to bear the pain of being rejected by those he loved, by those who watched him grow up, and by those for whom he sacrificed so much. However, dear Father, it gives me great comfort to know that he has experienced those losses and empathizes with me when I feel down, forgotten, abandoned, and forsaken. I know I can come to you, and he ensures me that I will receive grace to help me in my time of hurt and need. Thank you for being so intimately involved in this world. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

The devil attacks the roots, not the fruits. He knows that if he can attack your faith, he can affect everything your faith produces.
Don’t only protect what God has given you, protect the faith that brought it forth. Guard your faith, because everything connected to it depends on its strength. 🙏🔥

*CRUCIFY THE FLESH*
“You can’t aimlessly watch what you watch, listen to what you listen to, hang out with whom you hang out and still expect to walk in victory. There is a cutting that must take place for those who are called to conquer. Some can’t conquer their enemy because their flesh hasn’t been cut off. They can’t live for the Savior because they are not dead to their “self.”
• Deliverance gets the demons out, but discipline keeps them out.
• Deliverance is what God does for you; discipline is what God does inside you.
• Discipline is absolutely essential to walking in dominion.
To walk in dominion, we must cut away complaining because complaining is to the devil what worship is to God.”

'REBORN!' — JOHN 1:12-13
Not everyone rejected Jesus. In fact, everyone who believed in him and accepted him was given an incredible gift: They were made children of God! The same is still true for us who believe and accept Jesus. This special gift is something that God alone can give. It is also something about which both Jesus and our author John will have more to say. Today, however, think about what it means to be God's child! Our Father paints the sunrise and displays his artistry again at sunset. He set the boundaries of the universe, which we cannot begin to see. He is the greatest Father anyone could ever have, and he chose us to be his children! Our adoption into the Father's family is something God did for us to include us as his children. We couldn't make ourselves part of God's family any more than children can accomplish their own birth or their adoption. We are God's children because of his love and grace and Jesus' sacrifice. In fact, Jesus came as the Father's Word of grace so we can be children of God, born from above!
Today's Prayer
Expand my heart, O God, so that I can truly show my love and appreciation to you for adopting me into your family. Open my mind, dear Father, so that I can understand your grace and mercy given me through Jesus. I praise you and thank you for making me your child! In the name of my brother and Savior, Jesus Christ, my Lord, I pray. Amen.

"The sweet psalmist of Israel." — 2 Samuel 23:1
Among all the saints whose lives are recorded in Holy Writ, David possesses an experience of the most striking, varied, and instructive character. In his history we meet with trials and temptations not to be discovered, as a whole, in other saints of ancient times, and hence he is all the more suggestive a type of our Lord. David knew the trials of all ranks and conditions of men. Kings have their troubles, and David wore a crown: the peasant has his cares, and David handled a shepherd's crook: the wanderer has many hardships, and David abode in the caves of Engedi: the captain has his difficulties, and David found the sons of Zeruiah too hard for him. The psalmist was also tried in his friends, his counsellor Ahithophel forsook him, "He that eateth bread with me, hath lifted up his heel against me." His worst foes were they of his own household: his children were his greatest affliction. The temptations of poverty and wealth, of honour and reproach, of health and weakness, all tried their power upon him. He had temptations from without to disturb his peace, and from within to mar his joy. David no sooner escaped from one trial than he fell into another; no sooner emerged from one season of despondency and alarm, than he was again brought into the lowest depths, and all God's waves and billows rolled over him. It is probably from this cause that David's psalms are so universally the delight of experienced Christians. Whatever our frame of mind, whether ecstasy or depression, David has exactly described our emotions. He was an able master of the human heart, because he had been tutored in the best of all schools-the school of heart-felt, personal experience. As we are instructed in the same school, as we grow matured in grace and in years, we increasingly appreciate David's psalms, and find them to be "green pastures." My soul, let David's experience cheer and counsel thee this day.
