🌼*Topic*: Where Does My Help Come From?
*Scripture*: Psalm 121:1
β€œI lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?”

There are moments when life feels overwhelming and we don't know where to turn. The Psalmist looks beyond his circumstances and asks an important question: Where does my help come from?
Our help is not ultimately found in people, money, our own strength, or our circumstances. When we lift our eyes to God, we are reminded that He is our source, our strength, and our refuge. Whatever you're facing today, look up, your help comes from the Lord.

*Prayer*:
Father, remind me that You are my source and that I never have to face my problems alone. Amen.

*Declare*βœ‹πŸΌβ€ΌοΈ
I will not be overwhelmed by what I face, because my eyes are fixed on the One who is greater than every situation.

"Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory." β€” Psalms 73:24

The Psalmist felt his need of divine guidance. He had just been discovering the foolishness of his own heart, and lest he should be constantly led astray by it, he resolved that God's counsel should henceforth guide him. A sense of our own folly is a great step towards being wise, when it leads us to rely on the wisdom of the Lord. The blind man leans on his friend's arm and reaches home in safety, and so would we give ourselves up implicitly to divine guidance, nothing doubting; assured that though we cannot see, it is always safe to trust the all-seeing God. "Thou shalt," is a blessed expression of confidence. He was sure that the Lord would not decline the condescending task. There is a word for thee, O believer; rest thou in it. Be assured that thy God will be thy counsellor and friend; he shall guide thee; he will direct all thy ways. In his written Word thou hast this assurance in part fulfilled, for holy Scripture is his counsel to thee. Happy are we to have God's Word always to guide us! What were the mariner without his compass? And what were the Christian without the Bible? This is the unerring chart, the map in which every shoal is described, and all the channels from the quicksands of destruction to the haven of salvation mapped and marked by one who knows all the way. Blessed be thou, O God, that we may trust thee to guide us now, and guide us even to the end! After this guidance through life, the Psalmist anticipates a divine reception at last-"and afterward receive me to glory." What a thought for thee, believer! God himself will receive thee to glory-thee! Wandering, erring, straying, yet he will bring thee safe at last to glory! This is thy portion; live on it this day, and if perplexities should surround thee, go in the strength of this text straight to the throne.

GRACE UPON GRACE β€” JOHN 1:16-17

From [the Word's] abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. β€” John 1:16-17 NLT

Rich blessings, grace, mercy, kindness, unfailing love, faithfulness, ... The list could go on and on forever. God's blessings to us in Jesus are beyond our scope of imagining. As wonderful as the work of Moses had been for Israel, as defining as the Torah (the law that God gave Moses) was for humankind, Jesus is greater still. [1] He brings grace and truth, love and faithfulness piled one upon another. In fact, he brings God's full salvation with all of its blessings. Learn, memorize, and use the Scriptures to teach yourself God's will. Cherish the work of the great heroes of Scripture. But, know that Jesus is God's greatest message sent to bring you God's grace - his unfailing love and faithfulness - in abundance!
[1] Romans 8:3.

Today's Prayer

Loving and Holy Father, thank you for your incomparable greatness and your incredible graciousness. Forgive my selfish and forgetful heart for not being full of joy and appreciation for the blessings you lavish upon me daily. Dear Father, help me to see Jesus as the complete embodiment of your truth and grace. In the name of Jesus, your Son, I pray. Amen.

Don’t put a time limit on God. The moment you try to dictate when He must act, you step away from faith and into control.

You don’t control God’s timing. Trust Him, remain in faith, and remember that He makes all things beautiful in His own time. πŸ™βœ¨
GOD REVEALED! β€” JOHN 1:18

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One [Jesus], who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.vβ€” John 1:18 NLT

God is much too holy to be seen by human eyes. A face-to-face encounter with the Holy God of Israel was beyond the scope of human capability. [1] Jesus, however, came as God in human flesh, Immanuel, God with us! [2] So Jesus did much more than tell us about God. He revealed God. Jesus is God revealed. In his touch of the leper, in his raising of Lazarus, in his healing of the blind, in his feeding of the 5000, we see God at work and God in love with his human creation. Jesus is the great reminder that God not only wanted to know us but that he also wanted to be known by us. So as John finishes his beautiful prologue, please hear his invitation to come and see what Jesus did and know his life on earth was God at work, God in ministry, and God offering us his love.

Today's Prayer

Holy and righteous Father, thank you for wanting to make yourself known to me. Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, and in Jesus' ministry help me fully see you and your love for me and your call upon my life. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Immanuel. Amen.
