The Roosevelt Hotel, one of the largest migrant shelters in New York City, has officially closed.

However, the City of New York just signed a $1 billion contract for "emergency shelters," and sources are stating that illegals are now simply being moved into city shelters.

The Department of Homeless Services (DHS), which oversees these shelters, is also instructing its employees not to allow ICE agents into their facilities if they are coming to make an immigration-related arrest.

The DHS procedures handbook also states that it's illegal to share the immigration status of DHS "clients" with federal officials.

Mayor Eric Adams promised to close migrant shelters throughout New York City; however, this is one way that illegal immigrants are still receiving free, taxpayer-funded hotel rooms in New York.

A Detroit man has a helicopter drop money from the sky as his last wish.

58-year-old car wash owner Darrell "Plant" Thomas passed away in June and wanted to give his community one final gift.

On the day of his funeral, Thomas' sons Darell and Jonte organized a helicopter to drop cash and rose petals.

"This was a final expression of love from him to the community because he was a giver. Yesterday was simply a farewell tribute to an Eastside legend," his niece said.

Thomas was reportedly the owner of a local car wash, according to People, and wanted to drop the money as his last wish.

He reportedly passed away from Alzheimer's Disease.
