Bardfield admitted during interviews to having intercourse with the boy, claiming he made sexual advances toward her. She reached a partial plea deal with prosecutors, agreeing to the sole count against her.
Bardfield was sentenced to 10 years in jail on Sept. 25. The boy’s parents filed a lawsuit against Bardfield and the school district over the incident.
