🇪🇺 Election results for the European Parliament show a sharp rise in the popularity of right-wing parties:

🇫🇷 Marine Le Pen's National Rally received 32-33% of the votes in France. Macron's party, Renaissance, fell far behind, receiving half as many votes.

🇦🇹 In Austria, the Eurosceptic and anti-war Freedom Party took first place with 29%. Parliamentary elections are also approaching there, where the Freedom Party may come to power.

🇩🇪 Meanwhile, Alternative for Germany managed to secure around 16%, surpassing the Social Democrats who got 14%. In the former East Germany, Alternative for Germany even took first place with 27%.

▪️ For Scholz's party, the results are the worst in its history. The Greens also took a significant hit—down from 21% in 2019 to 12% now. This reflects the crisis with real incomes falling to 2016 levels, the deindustrialization of the country, and the formation of a "rust belt" along the Rhine.

▪️ On the day of the vote, the director of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange—one of the largest in Europe—noted that Germany is transforming from a developed country to a developing one. At this rate, Germany's quality of life is quickly deteriorating to the level of third-world countries.

Grzegorz Braun took a fire extinguisher to a menorah that was lit for the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah at the Polish parliament last December - stating he was restoring “normality.”

The deal to free the five American hostages would be hammered out through Qatari mediation if the current effort to reach a comprehensive agreement fails, NBC reported, citing US officials.

⚠️Belarus Joins Second Phase of Nuclear Drills with Russia

The exercises were a proactive measure to “increase our readiness to use so-called retaliatory weapons,” Belarusian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin said Monday.

“Now, more than ever before, we are determined to respond to any threats posed to both our country and the Union State” between Russia and Belarus, he added.

“We have no goal of creating any tension in regional security issues. We do not project relevant military threats on third countries or anyone else,” Khrenin noted.

🔴Scholz’s Coalition Claims ‘No Reason’ for Snap Vote Despite Mounting Pressure

Germany’s finance minister has rebuffed calls for a snap election in the wake of a dismal EU election night for the govt.

“Why should anything have changed? We have a joint govt program, and a coalition agreement that we are working on together,” Christian Lindner said.

Olaf Scholz’s spox also asserted that the chancellor had “not for one second” contemplated calling a snap election.
