Israel Furious as Britain Suspends Arms Sales

Israel has accused the UK of rewarding Hamas after it announced plans to suspend some export arms licenses.

UK FM David Lammy told MPs a two-month review had found a “clear risk” that British arms may be used in serious violations of international humanitarian law.

There were reports of friction with the US over the decision. Washington has said there is no basis for a suspension of arms exports.

Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur told ERR broadcaster Hanno Pevkur about the lack of systems capable of hitting missiles at an altitude of up to 20 km and at a distance of 150 to 200 km.

There is no shortage of systems for short-range missiles, he said.
