🤔 Israeli Football Fans “Ambushed” by Pro-Palestinian Supporters in Amsterdam - after ramping up tensions in Dutch capital

At least 57 people have been arrested after the skirmishes - with Israeli PM Netanyahu taking the extraordinary measure of sending two “rescue” planes to the Netherlands.

The Israeli PM’s office called it a “horrific incident” and demanded Dutch authorities “act decisively to ensure the peace” for Israeli fans.

The violence came after hundreds of Maccabi supporters gathered at the city’s National Monument in Dam Square where police made several arrests on Thursday for breach of peace.

Earlier, video shared on social media in the lead up to the football match showed the visitors were shouting “F*ck Arabs” and tearing down Palestinian flags.

❗️Flooding washes away cars in northern Spain

Spain has been hit by a new deluge of heavy rain that saw cars carried away by floodwater near the northern city of Girona.

In scenes reminiscent of the massive flash flood that devastated parts of Valencia last week, the Catalan coastal town Cadaqués was among the worst hit areas.

Catalonia’s firefighting service said on Friday that operatives had “checked about 30 cars that were washed away by a torrent in Cadaqués”, adding that “no one was injured or trapped.”
