The industrial action was announced Thursday as Macron - the embattled head of state - prepared to accept the resignation of Barnier, his fifth PM in 7 years.

A spox for the CGT, France’s Confederation of Labour union, said strikes would affect multiple sectors, including schools, hospitals, airports, and town halls.

❌ Amnesty Accuses Israel of “Genocide”

Israel has been committing genocide against Palestinians “brazenly, continuously and with total impunity,” Amnesty International warned in a new report documenting how the IDF “unleashed hell” on Gaza.

The London-based rights organisation said its findings were based on “dehumanising and genocidal statements by Israeli govt and military officials,” satellite images documenting devastation, fieldwork and ground reports from Gazans and health workers.

“Our damning findings must serve as a wake-up call to the international community: this is genocide. It must stop now,” Amnesty said.

🎯 South Korean Police Open Insurrection Investigation into President Yoon Suk Yeol

The investigation comes after the opposition Rebuilding Korea party and 59 activists filed two complaints against Yoon and other cabinet members involved in the chaotic declaration of martial law late Tuesday.

Insurrection is a crime that goes beyond presidential immunity and the Yoon could face life imprisonment or the death penalty if found guilty.

Around 70% of South Koreans support the impeachment of Yoon, a survey released Thursday said.

❎ Trump Admin Prepping List of Countries to Deport Migrants when Home Nations Refuse to Accept Back

The countries include but may not be limited to Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas, Panama and Grenada, according to three NBC sources.

It is not clear if the migrants would be allowed to legally remain to work and live in the countries to which they are deported.

Hundreds of thousands of migrants who come from Venezuela, Cuba, China and other countries that are reluctant to accept back – often end up released into the US, even if a judge has ordered them deported.

Israel’s foreign minister responded angrily Thursday, saying the report was “entirely false” and branding Amnesty “fanatical.”

The ministry said in a statement: “The deplorable and fanatical organisation Amnesty International has once again produced a fabricated report that is entirely false and based on lies.”

They can shout and scream all they want – but the evidence of erasure in Gaza is clear for anyone who wants to see.

The Biden administration is actively considering whether to issue preemptive pardons to certain current and former public officials in the govt – following Trump’s appointment of Kash Patel to lead the FBI.

The deliberations, spearheaded by White House counsel Ed Siskel, revolve around shielding individuals who could face scrutiny if Trump regains power.

Along with Dr Fauci, Adam Schiff and Liz Cheney are also under pardon contemplation.

Four govt-backed industry associations, representing the bulk of China’s semiconductor demand, issued co-ordinated statements this week - urging firms to rethink purchases of US silicon that three of them deemed as “no longer safe or reliable.”

In an unusually swift response Tuesday, Beijing banned the shipment of key minerals and metals to the US, just hours after American officials unveiled new export controls in an attempt to “degrade” China’s ability to make advanced chips.
