Beijing "is closely monitoring the situation in Syria," Foreign Ministry spox Mao Ning told reporters in the Chinese capital.

China "stresses that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria must be respected,” Mao added.

She was reacting to Israeli army airstrikes late Sunday across Syria targeting several sites after the IDF occupied the Syrian side of Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights.

❗️Berlin Halts Syrian Asylum Applications – Der Spiegel

Germany’s Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has paused all asylum decisions for Syrians, citing concerns that current rulings would be “on shaky ground.”

Some 47,270 asylum claims from Syrians are affected, including around 46k first-time applications - that have not yet been decided, according to German authorities.

🔴 Seoul Imposes Travel Ban on President Yoon

South Korea’s Justice Dept has banned Yoon from leaving the country after requests by police, prosecutors and an anti-corruption agency following his unsuccessful power grab.

Yoon was saved from an opposition-led attempt to impeach him at the weekend - when all but three members of the ruling People Power Party boycotted the vote in the National Assembly.

He has been out of the public eye since expressing remorse in televised remarks on Saturday.

The Egyptian foreign ministry accused Israel of “exploiting the power vacuum to occupy more Syrian territories and create a fait accompli in violation of international law.”
