⚠️ ‘Flesh-Eating’ Bacteria Spreads at Record Rate in Japan

The country has reported 977 cases of streptococcal toxic shock syndrome in 2024 – already exceeding an all-time high of 941 infections detected last year.

In some severe cases, strep A bacteria can become invasive – seeping from cuts and wounds deep into soft tissue and muscle, where it triggers necrotising fasciitis, a “flesh-eating disease.”

Tokyo has been most affected by the record surge, with 145 cases in the first six months of 2024.

New projections suggested only about 40 pro-Macron MPs would reach the second-round vote on July 7, in run-offs mainly between populist hard-Right or Left-wing candidates for the 577-strong assembly, according to two studies for Le Figaro and BFM TV.

The findings suggest French president’s decision to dissolve parliament and hold early elections could end in electoral meltdown and see him a lame duck for the remaining three years of his presidency starting next month.

He revealed there were live consultations between members on taking missiles out of storage and placing them on standby as he called for transparency to be used as a “deterrent.”

Stoltenberg warned that China in particular was investing heavily in modern weaponry - including its nuclear arsenal, which he claimed would grow to 1,000 warheads by as early as 2030.
