It’s the first visit by the Hungarian PM to Ukraine since the war began in February 2022.

Talks will “focus on possibilities for achieving peace, as well as current issues in Hungarian-Ukrainian bilateral relations,” a spox for Orbán said.

Orbán has previously taken issue with Ukraine over what Budapest says is its failure to guarantee the rights of its Hungarian minority.

Candidates from Macron’s Centrist party and the hard-Left announced they had pulled out to avoid the potential for them to eat into each other’s vote share.

A running tally by French newspaper Le Monde said that 169 candidates had already withdrawn – to try and prevent Le Pen’s National Rally from winning enough seats for a majority.

Homosexual PM Gabriel Attal said voters had a “moral” duty to do everything they could to “prevent [National Rally] from winning an absolute majority” in the run-off on July 7.

Moscow fired Iskander-M missiles at the Myrgorod airfield in central Ukraine, 90 miles from the Russian border, Russia’s defence ministry said – taking out five Su-27 fighter jets.
