🛳 Russia Launches Massive Naval Drills

Russia’s Defense Ministry has begun extensive naval exercises involving around 300 warships and speedboats from the Northern, Pacific, and Baltic Fleets, as well as the Caspian Flotilla.

The drills aim to evaluate the coordination among various military branches and the readiness of ship crews, naval aviation units, and coastal forces, according to the ministry.

The exercises, which also include up to 50 aircraft, over 200 units of military and special equipment, and more than 20,000 personnel, will feature over 300 combat scenarios.

The 114-page report, published on Monday by a bipartisan commission appointed by Congress, warns that it's impossible.

Ammunition stockpiles are particularly lacking, said the eight-person commission, which included a retired Army general, a former Democratic-party congresswoman, and a former US ambassador.

They cited a 2022 report from two Center for National American Security analysts that said the US doesn't have enough arms to "blunt and defeat an initial invasion" from powers like China.

The report states that this shortage has endured even after the US recently intensified arms production to supply Ukraine.

"As a result, unclassified public wargames suggest that, in a conflict with China, the United States would largely exhaust its munitions inventories in as few as three to four weeks," their report said.

Some important munitions, such as anti-ship missiles, could last only a few days, the commission warned.

The commissioners said stockpiles among US allies are also a concern. As an example, they cited a 2022 report from the Royal United Services Institute about the war in Ukraine.

That report said: "At the height of the fighting in Donbas, Russia was using more ammunition in two days than the entire British military has in stock."

😳 Property Developer Buys Nazi Concentration Camp

The Langenstein-Zwieberge camp in Saxony, infamous for its use of slave labor, has been sold for €500,000 to GPM Projekt 58 UG.

The property development company is said to specialise in “problem properties.” It remains unclear what GPM Projekt intends to do with the site, however, the purchase has sparked concern from historians and holocaust victims’ relatives.

The Langenstein-Zwieberge camp was built near the town of Halberstadt in Saxony and consisted of an 8-mile-long tunnel network, where prisoners were forced to help build Nazi weapons such as V2 rockets for the war effort.

Survivors of the camp said the conditions were so barbaric that the bodies would “pile up” in the tunnels, where many suffered from extreme malnutrition.
